The Starrett Deep Cut bi-metal hole cutter also features an increased hole cutter depth of 51mm (2 inches) and is ideal for cutting metal of more than 3mm thickness, tubes with a wall thickness of greater than 3mm and wood up to 51mm (2 inches) thick. The Deep Cut saw combines the tried and tested tooth form from the previous Dual Pitch product, with a new tooth material for enhanced heat and wear resistance.

Matrix II steel contains 8% cobalt allowing the teeth to retain the original tooth hardness even at high working temperatures when used in metal cutting applications. The holesaw has a 38mm cutting depth and precision set teeth for aggressive material penetration and swarf clearance. Application areas: metalworking (stainless steel, high alloy steels, aluminium) and composites (plastics, sandwich material, computer flooring, fibreglass, plastic coated wood boards, nail embedded wood). When cutting through an RSJ, set your drill to a low speed for a faster cut and reduced temperature build-up, extending the hole saws durability.The teeth are then vacuum hardened to 65 HRC at a temperature of 600°C to give maximum durability and life time.
